Rumour is 18+ and photo ID is required. There is no under-18 entry, and in a 200-capacity Mayfair room the door checks properly rather than waving groups through.
Accepted ID
- Passport
- UK photocard driving licence
- National identity card (EU/EEA)
- PASS-accredited proof-of-age card with the hologram
Photos of ID on your phone, photocopies and expired documents are not accepted. Bring the physical document.
Everyone Needs Their Own
One person without ID is refused, and being part of a booked group does not change it. With a small room and a tight door there is no discretion to extend. Check before anyone travels across London.
How Rumour Compares
At 18+, Rumour is more accessible than parts of the Mayfair circuit where 21+ is enforced — while still being a genuinely upscale room rather than a student night. For an 18th or a 21st in Mayfair it is one of the stronger options.
Does a Table Change It?
No. A table booking guarantees entry for your group and is how gentlemen get in, but every guest still needs to be 18+ with valid photo ID.
Birthdays
Turning 18 or 21 is one of the better reasons to book a booth here — the room photographs well and the group stays together all night. See our Rumour birthday packages guide. If the celebration falls the night before the birthday, the door goes by the date on the ID.
