Rumour is an intimate late-night club at 1 Dover Street in Mayfair — deep red velvet booths, low warm lighting and a 200 capacity that fills early. It is one of the smaller rooms on the Mayfair circuit, and deliberately so.
Rumour occupies the Dover Street space previously known as Tabu. Same ownership, but a full rebrand — new design, new concept, and a smaller, darker room than the one it replaced.
The Room
Rumour is built around its booths rather than a big open floor. Red velvet, dark panelling, a chandelier and lighting kept low enough that the room feels like a private party rather than a club. At roughly 200 people it is full well before capacity, which is the intended effect — the concept is an elevated, intimate night rather than a warehouse.
Music
The policy is open format: hip hop, RnB and house, read to the room and moved around as the night develops. In a space this size the DJ can genuinely respond to who is in front of them, which is the whole point of the format. No single genre night to plan around — the sound follows the crowd.
Opening Nights
Open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 11pm until 4am. Wednesday and Thursday are the more relaxed nights and the easiest for guestlist entry. Friday and Saturday fill out and are worth arranging in advance.
Getting In
Entry works in two ways. The ladies’ guestlist runs from free to £20 depending on how busy the night is. Gentlemen are not added to the guestlist — with a 200 capacity the door is managed tightly, so for men a table booking from £1,000 is the way in.
Full breakdown in our Rumour entry price guide.
Tables
Tables and booths start from £1,000 minimum spend, which covers entry for the whole group. In a room this small the booths are the best position in the venue, not a consolation. See the table and bottle prices guide.
Dress Code
Smart and dressed up — heels for ladies, and a considered look for men. No sportswear or trainers. Detail in our Rumour dress code guide.
Age
18+ with photo ID. See the age policy guide.
