Itzel is a three-room nightclub on Berkeley Street in Mayfair, occupying the space that was Funky Buddha for over two decades. The rebrand split the venue into a hip hop main room, a house-led basement called the Moon Room, and a late-night taqueria — a different proposition to the single-room club it replaced.
This guide covers how entry works, what it costs and how to arrange your night. Our booking service is free.
How Entry to Itzel Works
Unlike most Mayfair clubs, Itzel charges on the door even with a guestlist spot. There are two routes in:
- Guestlist — £10 to £20 for ladies depending on the night and how busy it is, and £50 for gentlemen. Being on the list secures your place and the faster queue; it does not waive the door charge.
- Table booking — from £600 minimum spend, which covers entry for your whole group and removes the door charge entirely.
For a group of men, the arithmetic is worth doing before you arrive. Six gentlemen paying £50 each is £300 through the door with nothing to show for it. The same £300 is half of a table that includes entry, a reserved booth and bottles.
We would rather set that out plainly than let you find out at the door.

The Three Rooms
- Main Room — hip hop and eclectic, read to the crowd. Resident DJs with international headline artists on bigger nights. This is where most tables sit and where the night peaks.
- Moon Room — house-led, under a fibre-optic star ceiling. Darker, bluer and more dance-focused than upstairs, with its own bar.
- Taqueria — a late-night taco bar inside the club. Unusual for Mayfair, where food generally stops at the door, and genuinely useful at 2am.
The practical upshot is that one booking covers two very different music policies. If half your group wants hip hop and the other half wants house, Itzel is one of the few Mayfair rooms that settles the argument.
Opening Nights
Itzel is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11pm until 4am. Thursday is the softer night and the easiest door; Friday and Saturday fill out properly and are worth booking ahead for. Special openings outside those nights are announced separately — message us and we will tell you what is on for your date.
Music
The main room is hip hop and eclectic, crowd-led rather than locked to one sound, with resident DJs and international headline artists on the bigger nights. The Moon Room runs a house-led policy downstairs. Both rooms are open on the same entry.
Dress Code
Itzel describes its code as “elegance with edge”. Sportswear, hoodies, shorts and activewear are refused. In practice that means a sharp, considered look rather than a stiff one — the door rewards effort and style over a plain suit. Read our full Itzel dress code guide.
Age Policy
Itzel is strictly 18+ and a valid physical photo ID is required — a photo on your phone will not be accepted. See our Itzel age policy guide.
Tables
Tables start from £600 minimum spend, which is the amount your group commits to spend on bottles rather than a fee on top. Across eight people that is £75 each including entry, against £50 each just to walk in. See our Itzel table booking page.
Location
Itzel is at 15 Berkeley Street, Mayfair, London W1J 8DY. The nearest tube is Green Park, about three minutes away, with Piccadilly Circus and Bond Street also within walking distance. Berkeley Street runs from Piccadilly up to Berkeley Square, in the middle of Mayfair’s late-night cluster.
Formerly Funky Buddha
15 Berkeley Street was Funky Buddha for more than twenty years, one of Mayfair’s best-known celebrity rooms. Itzel is a full rebrand rather than a rename: new design, a second music room, and a food offering the old club never had. If you knew Funky Buddha, expect the address and little else.
