Halloween 2026 falls on Saturday 31 October, so the year's biggest costume night lands on the busiest club night of the week, and getting a table in Mayfair's clubs on Halloween will be harder than usual. This guide explains how to secure one: which Mayfair clubs to approach, when to book, how minimum spends work on the night, whether to choose Friday or Saturday, and what gets a costume through the door.
As of early October 2026, the large ticketed parties have published their dates, but most Mayfair clubs have not yet announced their 2026 Halloween themes or line-ups; they usually do so from mid-October. Where a club has not announced anything, this guide says so rather than guessing. For every confirmed party across the city, see our main guide to the best nightclubs and parties on Halloween in London.
Halloween 2026 at a glance
| Night | Date | What it means for tables |
|---|---|---|
| Friday | 30 October | Full Halloween programmes at most clubs, more choice of table and usually lower minimum spends |
| Saturday | 31 October | Halloween itself: the hardest night of the year to book and the highest minimums |
| Sunday | 1 November | A handful of clubs open late; quieter and easier to book |
The clocks go back a week earlier, at 2am on Sunday 25 October, according to GOV.UK's guide to when the clocks change, so there is no extra hour after Halloween this year.
The Mayfair clubs to book for Halloween 2026
These are the open Mayfair and St James's clubs London Night Guide books, with the nearest Soho options after them. None of them had published a 2026 Halloween theme as of early October 2026.
- Tape on Hanover Square: hip hop, RnB and Afrobeats to a well-dressed international crowd. With Halloween on a Saturday, Tape's biggest night of the week and its Halloween night are the same night. Our Tape London Halloween guide covers dates and door rules.
- Maddox on Mill Street: hip hop and house over two levels, open Thursday to Saturday, with tables from £1,000 as of October 2026.
- 99 Regent Street (formerly Cuckoo Club): two floors of hip hop and house on the old Cuckoo Club site, with a 19+ age policy and tables from £600 as of October 2026.
- Rumour (formerly Tabu) on Dover Street: an intimate room of around 200 capacity playing hip hop, RnB and house, so tables are limited.
- Reign on Piccadilly: a showclub open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, so both Halloween weekend nights are in play.
- Dear Darling in St James's: hip hop and house, open Thursday to Sunday, so along with Tape it is one of the options on Sunday 1 November.
Just outside Mayfair, Cirque le Soir on Ganton Street and The Box on Walker's Court in Soho are the most theatrical Halloween rooms in the West End, and both fill early on a Saturday Halloween.
Earlier versions of this guide also listed Luxx and Wyld, which have both closed. The Cuckoo Club and Tabu now trade as 99 Regent Street and Rumour.
When to book a Halloween table in Mayfair
The pattern is the same every year, and a Saturday Halloween makes it tighter.
- Ask now, confirm when the club announces. Clubs usually release Halloween themes from mid-October, but table requests can be lodged before that. Registering early puts your group near the front when the floor plan opens.
- Book two to three weeks ahead for Saturday 31 October. Late tables do appear, but usually at a higher minimum spend or in a less central position.
- Expect a deposit. Most Mayfair clubs ask for a deposit to hold a Halloween table, and the balance is spent on drinks on the night. Ask about the cancellation terms before you pay.
- Give the full guest list early. On Halloween the door works from the booking name and group size. Arriving with more people than booked, or with a different mix of guests, is the most common reason a group is held at the door.
How minimum spends work on Halloween
A minimum spend is not an entry fee. It is the amount your group agrees to spend on drinks at the table, and it covers entry for everyone on the booking. On Halloween Saturday the minimums at Mayfair clubs are among the highest of the year, because demand for tables far exceeds the number of tables.
As an illustration, a £1,000 minimum shared by a group of eight works out at £125 each before any extras. The same table on Friday 30 October usually carries a lower minimum, and a table in a less central position costs less than one beside the DJ booth. If budget matters more than the date, Friday is the better night to book.
Friday 30 or Saturday 31 October?
Saturday 31 October has the atmosphere: the most costumes, the biggest crowd and the full Halloween production. It also has the hardest doors and the highest minimums, and walk-ins are a gamble at every well-known Mayfair club.
Friday 30 October suits groups that book late, want a better table position or need to keep the cost down. Most clubs run Halloween on the Friday as well, so it rarely feels like the lesser night. Large groups that cannot all commit to the Saturday often have a better night on the Friday.
Getting through the door in costume
A costume does not replace the club's dress code; it sits on top of it.
- Build the costume on smart clothes. Tape asks for smart and elegant, Maddox for smart and sexy, and 99 Regent Street for elegant. A tailored base with costume details gets in; a onesie or a full rubber suit usually does not.
- Masks come off at the door. Security has to match faces to ID, so be ready to remove any mask and carry a valid passport, driving licence or PASS card.
- Leave props at home. Replica weapons, chains and fake blood that can mark furniture are routinely refused at the bag search.
- Arrive together and on time. Table bookings have an arrival window, and on Halloween a group that arrives late may find its table has been released.
Planning the rest of the night
Most groups book dinner nearby first and arrive at the club between 11pm and midnight, inside the arrival window given with the booking. Plan the journey home before you set out: prices for cars rise sharply in the early hours of a Halloween Saturday, so pre-booking a car for the end of the night saves a long wait on the pavement in costume.
