Halloween 2026: The Dates
As of October 2026, Tape is open on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That puts four of its usual opening nights in Halloween week:
- Tuesday 27 October 2026: a usual Tape Tuesday, the midweek option that week.
- Friday 30 October 2026: a usual Friday night, the eve of Halloween.
- Saturday 31 October 2026: Halloween night itself, on a usual Saturday.
- Sunday 1 November 2026: a usual Sunday night, the evening after Halloween.
These are Tape's usual opening nights, not a published Halloween schedule. As of October 2026, Tape has not announced its Halloween programme, so any theme, line-up or special event for these nights is still to be confirmed. On the hours, the main room runs from 11pm and closes at 3:45am (as of October 2026). On Friday and Saturday, Little Tape, the room next door (formerly 1717 Hanover), carries on from 3am to 5:30am, so Friday 30 October and Saturday 31 October both have a later finish available.
What to Expect at Tape on Halloween
Tape is a hip hop, RnB and Afrobeats room with a well-dressed, international crowd. Until a Halloween programme is announced, the safe assumption is a normal Tape night with costumes in the room and a busier door. Costumes that suit the room are tailored and styled rather than shop-bought horror: the music, the crowd and the door standard are the same as any other night.
The Costume Rule Nobody Tells You About
This is where most Halloween nights in Mayfair go wrong, and it is worth being blunt: a costume does not override the dress code. Tape's policy is Smart/Elegant, and the door team enforces it on Halloween as it does every other night. An outfit that would be fine at a house party can still be refused at the door, and the guestlist does not protect you from that.
The rule of thumb that works is to build the costume on top of an outfit you would have been admitted in anyway. A sharp dress or a tailored suit, styled up with makeup, a mask, accessories or a strong concept, reads as effort. What is likely to be refused is anything that reads as casual underneath: trainers, sportswear, ripped or novelty full-body costumes, anything with a plastic mask covering the face, and anything that makes you unidentifiable to the door or to security. Guestlist for Tape London on Halloween
Our guestlist service is free, and on Halloween it is worth more than on a normal night: not because it guarantees anything, but because the queue it lets you skip is likely to be longer. On a busy night guestlist places can fill early and the arrival cut-off matters more, so the two things that decide whether it works for you are booking early and arriving early.
Be realistic about what a guestlist does on a night like this. It typically means free or reduced entry and a separate, faster queue, and it puts your name with the venue's management directly rather than through an aggregator. It does not mean guaranteed entry regardless of what time you turn up or what you are wearing: on a full Halloween Saturday, arriving at 1am on the guestlist in the wrong outfit will not get you in. Arrive early, before midnight on the Saturday, because the queue on 31 October is unlikely to be a normal queue. Bring physical ID for everyone, since Tape is 18+ and the door checks it properly, and a costume makes that check slower rather than easier. Keep the group balanced, as heavily male groups face a harder door on busy nights. And agree the costume standard with the group before the night, because one person in trainers can hold up the whole party at the front of the queue.
