Funky Buddha has closed; Itzel now operates at its Berkeley Street address. The Mayfair club at 15 Berkeley Street no longer operates, so its age policy no longer applies and its guestlist and tables can no longer be booked. Check the Itzel age guide before you go.
Where to go instead of Funky Buddha

- Itzel (formerly Funky Buddha) at Funky Buddha's former address, 15 Berkeley Street, Mayfair: hip hop and house, open Thursday to Saturday.
- Rumour (formerly Tabu) at 1 Dover Street, Mayfair: one intimate room of about 200 built around booths, playing open format hip hop, RnB and house from Wednesday to Saturday, 11pm to 4am. Entry is 18+.
- 99 Regent Street (formerly Cuckoo Club), entrance on Swallow Street near Piccadilly Circus: hip hop and RnB upstairs, house downstairs, Wednesday to Saturday, 11pm to 4am. Entry is 19+.
- Maddox on Mill Street, Mayfair: hip hop and house, open Thursday to Saturday.
How the age policy worked at Funky Buddha
For reference only, as none of this applies any more: Funky Buddha's minimum age was 18 on every night, but on Fridays and Saturdays the door favoured men aged 21 and over, so younger men without a booking found it harder to get in. Security ran a Challenge 25 policy and accepted only original, in-date photo ID: a passport, a UK driving licence (including provisional), a PASS card or an EU or EEA national identity card. Student cards, expired documents, photocopies and photos of ID on a phone were refused.
