A Christmas party at a London nightclub is one of the simplest ways to give an office team or a group of friends a proper night out in December: one booking, a reserved space, drinks sorted and a room that is already full of atmosphere. This guide explains how Christmas parties at London clubs actually work in 2026, from VIP tables and private hire to guestlist, which December nights fill first, what tables cost on a normal night, and how to get everyone home.

How a Christmas party at a London club works
There are three ways to bring a group into a club in December, and the right one depends mostly on headcount and how private the night needs to feel.
VIP tables. The standard format for groups of roughly 6 to 15. You reserve a table or booth, and the group commits to a minimum spend on bottles and mixers. The minimum spend is not a cover charge: the table itself costs nothing, the money goes on drinks, and entry for the people on the booking is included. For a bigger office group, two or three neighbouring tables usually work better than one oversized booking.
Private hire. Exclusive use of a club, a floor or a self-contained room for the night. This suits office parties of 50 and upwards that want their own bar, their own music brief and no strangers in the room. Prices for December private hire are almost never published: venues quote per date, and the quote depends on the night of the week, the hours and the drinks package. As a reference point from the site's own venue data, Little Tape, the private room inside the Tape building on Hanover Square, lists venue hire from 4,000 pounds for up to 100 guests as of October 2026, with bespoke packages towards its 150 capacity. December dates are quoted on request.
Guestlist. Free or reduced entry with no table. It works for small, mostly female groups on quieter nights, but it is the weakest option for an office party: most Mayfair guestlists are ladies only, mixed and all-male groups are usually asked to book a table, and on the busiest December nights the door can close the list early. Which December 2026 nights to book
Christmas party season at London clubs runs through the first three weeks of December, and Thursdays and Fridays are the busiest nights, because that is when offices hold their parties. In 2026 the peak run is:

Friday 18 December is the last Friday before Christmas, and it is the night most likely to be fully booked. Christmas Eve falls on Thursday 24 December, Christmas Day on Friday 25 December and Boxing Day on Saturday 26 December, so the usual Thursday and Friday party nights in that final week are lost to Christmas itself.
Two practical points follow from the calendar. First, check that the club actually opens on your night: several of the best known rooms do not trade on Thursdays (see the table below). Second, a Wednesday, a Saturday or the first week of December is the easiest way to get a better table or a lower quote, because those nights are under less pressure from office bookings.
When to book and how deposits work
Office and group Christmas parties are mostly booked in October and November. Groups that confirm by early November get the widest choice of clubs and table positions for the Thursday and Friday peak; December bookings are still possible, but usually for fewer clubs, smaller tables or a different night.
When you book, expect the club to confirm the minimum spend, the arrival window and the deposit or prepayment terms in writing. Terms vary by venue and by date, and December nights are more likely to need money up front than an ordinary weekend. Before paying, ask three questions: does the deposit count towards the minimum spend, what happens if the headcount drops, and what is the cancellation deadline. For private hire, also ask what the hire fee includes (bar staff, security, DJ, cloakroom) and the latest time the room is yours.
Send a final headcount a few days before the night, and give the club one named organiser who will be at the door with the booking reference.
What a club table costs on a normal night
The figures below are normal-night table minimums from London Night Guide's own venue data, as of October 2026. They are not Christmas prices: December dates, peak Saturdays and event nights can carry higher minimums, which the club confirms when you book. Every minimum covers bottles and mixers.

As a rough guide to splitting the bill, a 1,000 pound minimum across a group of eight is 125 pounds each with entry included, and a 600 pound minimum across eight is 75 pounds each.
The London clubs we book for Christmas groups
Mayfair and St James's. Rumour, on Dover Street in the space formerly known as Tabu, is a small room of deep red velvet booths, roughly 200 capacity, which suits a group that wants to talk as well as dance. Maddox, on Mill Street, has two rooms (hip hop and house) and opens on Thursdays, which matters in office party season. Tape, on Hanover Square, is the big name for a Friday or Saturday, and Little Tape in the same building is the private hire option. Dear Darling and Selene both open Thursday to Sunday; Selene sits just north of Oxford Circus, in Fitzrovia. Reign runs a showclub night with performers that works well for a group that wants entertainment built in. Scotch of St James is the smaller, rock and roll heritage room, open on Fridays and Saturdays only.
Regent Street, Soho and the West End. 99 Regent Street, formerly Cuckoo Club, runs open-format hip hop upstairs and house downstairs; both floors open on Friday and Saturday and one floor on Wednesday and Thursday. Cirque le Soir and The Box in Soho are the two theatrical options, with performers through the night, and they suit a team that wants a story to tell on Monday morning.
Dinner first. Mistress of Mayfair on St James's Street has two semi-private dining rooms for up to 20 guests, according to Time Out, which makes it a candidate for the dinner part of a two-stop night. Since a Westminster licence review in September 2026 it trades under conditions that stop it operating as a dancefloor, so plan the dancing for the next stop.
The big London clubs. For a group that wants a serious dance music night rather than a table-service room, Ministry of Sound runs until 7am on Fridays and Saturdays with a casual dress code, and KOKO in Camden runs late-night club programming on Fridays and Saturdays with balcony tables from 1,000 pounds as of October 2026.

Dress code, ID and big groups
Most of the Mayfair and West End rooms run a smart and elegant door. For men that means a collared shirt or a smart knit, tailored trousers and leather shoes; for women, a dress or smart separates. Trainers, sportswear and caps are refused almost everywhere. Some rooms ask for more (Maddox and Cirque le Soir describe their code as smart and sexy, The Box as smart and creative), and the bigger clubs are more relaxed: Ministry of Sound is casual and KOKO smart casual on club nights. A party coming straight from the office should bring a change of shoes.
Everyone needs valid photo ID, including the managing director. The baseline at these clubs is 18 and over, and the door keeps its discretion on the night, so flag any younger staff when booking.
For groups, arrive together and on time: the table is held for an arrival window, and a group of fifteen trickling in one by one is harder to seat than one that walks in together. Christmas jumpers and fancy dress are a matter for the club, not the group, so ask before the night rather than at the door.
Getting home after a December night out
The Night Tube runs on Friday and Saturday nights only, on the Central, Jubilee, Northern, Piccadilly, Victoria and Windrush lines, according to Transport for London. That matters for an office party: after a Thursday night, there is no Night Tube, so book cars or plan night buses before the night starts.
The Christmas period itself is different again. In 2025, Time Out's festive London transport guide reported that on Christmas Eve services ran a reduced timetable from the evening and finished around 10pm with no Night Tube, that nothing ran on Christmas Day, and that on Boxing Day the tube restarted from 7am with no Night Tube. TfL publishes the 2026 arrangements nearer the time, so check before planning anything for 24 to 26 December.
