99 Regent Street — also written NinetyNine Regent Street — is a two-floor club in the West End, on the address that has housed London nightlife since 1954. Open-format hip hop runs upstairs and house downstairs, in a room pitched deliberately more elegant than the big-room clubs around it.
The dress code is elegant, and this is one of the rooms where that is meant literally.
What to Wear
Men: a well-cut shirt or a good knit, tailored trousers or dark denim with no distressing, proper shoes. A jacket lifts it and is never wrong here.
Women: a dress, a tailored set or a considered going-out outfit, with heels or an elegant flat.
What Gets Refused
- Trainers — the most common refusal, however clean or expensive.
- Sportswear and tracksuits — no exceptions for brand.
- Shorts — the code does not relax in summer.
- Anything scruffy or overly casual — including a hoodie under a jacket.
Why the Door Is Strict
99 is positioned against the big-room clubs nearby — smaller, more considered, closer to a members’ room in feel. The dress code is how that gets maintained, alongside the 20+ age policy. Turning up dressed well, in a sensible group size, at a reasonable hour does more for your chances than any one item of clothing.
Does a Table Change It?
No. A table booking guarantees your group entry, but everyone still has to meet the code. Table guests are the most visible people in the room.
