KOKO is Camden’s most iconic late-night venue and one of the most striking rooms in London. A Grade II-listed Victorian theatre on Camden High Street, it reopened in 2022 after a major restoration that brought back the Louis XIV-style auditorium — red velvet, gilded balconies, chandeliers and a giant disco ball over the dance floor. It holds around 1,500 people across three balcony tiers.

This guide covers what actually happens at KOKO week to week, how to get in, and what a table costs.

What’s On at KOKO

KOKO runs two distinct kinds of night, and knowing which one you are looking at changes how you get in:

Late-night club shows — Friday and Saturday

The weekend late-night programme runs roughly 10pm until 4am, with house, electronic and disco across the main auditorium. This is the classic KOKO night: big production, international DJs, and the disco ball doing its work. Guestlist and VIP tables both apply to these nights.

Ticketed live gigs

KOKO is first and foremost a live music venue, and much of the week is given over to concerts. These are ticketed events with their own on-sale dates, and they finish earlier than the club nights. Some gig nights roll into a late-night session afterwards; others do not.

Because the line-up changes constantly and is announced by the venue in advance, we do not republish a calendar here that would go stale. Tell us your date and we will tell you exactly what is on — and whether it is a gig, a club night, or both — along with what is available for your group.

How to Get Into KOKO

  • Ticket — for live shows, entry is by ticket for that specific event.
  • Guestlist — for Friday and Saturday club nights, the KOKO guestlist gives you a faster queue and reduced entry where available.
  • VIP table — a table booking covers priority entry for your whole group plus a reserved space with bottle service.

Camden High Street queues get long on Saturdays. If you are a group of six or more, a table is usually the difference between walking in and standing outside.

Tables and Prices

Balcony booths start from £1,000 minimum spend, with floor-side and central premium tables from £1,500. Headline DJ nights carry premium pricing.

Full breakdown of tiers and what is included is in our KOKO table and bottle prices guide.

Dress Code

KOKO’s dress code is smart casual, and it is more relaxed than the Mayfair clubs — this is Camden, and the crowd reflects it. Gig nights are the most relaxed of all; weekend club nights are noticeably smarter. Full detail in our KOKO dress code guide.

The Building

The venue opened in 1900 as the Camden Theatre and has cycled through several lives since — a BBC recording studio, the Music Machine, and then Camden Palace, where a generation of British guitar and dance music passed through. The 2022 restoration kept the theatre bones and added a rooftop and additional bars, which is why the room still feels like a theatre rather than a converted warehouse.

Location and Getting There

KOKO is at 1A Camden High Street, London NW1 7JE, directly opposite Mornington Crescent station. Mornington Crescent (Northern line) is the closest tube; Camden Town is a short walk and better served late. Night buses along Camden High Street run through the night, and taxis are straightforward on the main road.
