Funky Buddha has closed; Itzel now operates at its Berkeley Street address. The Mayfair club no longer operates, so its guestlist, tables and drinks can no longer be booked. For the venue that replaced it, read the Itzel review.

What Funky Buddha was like
For reference only, as none of this applies any more: Funky Buddha was at 15 Berkeley Street, Mayfair, near Green Park, and traded there for over two decades. It was a 300 capacity club known for its celebrity clientele, its giant monk statues and its waterfall backdrop. The music was hip hop and RnB from resident DJs, and it opened on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11pm to 4am.
The crowd mixed well connected Londoners, fashion professionals and international visitors, typically aged 23 to 35. Saturday was the flagship night with the fullest dancefloor. The dress code was Smart Casual, and the door kept a curated crowd, so the guestlist or a table was the reliable way in.
