77 London — also written Seventy Seven — is a 550-capacity electronic music club in the basement of The BoTree hotel on Welbeck Street, Marylebone. It was designed by Concrete, the Amsterdam studio, as a deliberately asymmetrical room lit by synchronised gold and silver LED, and it is one of the few rooms in this part of London booking dance music seriously.
The code is smart — sharp rather than formal, and a touch more relaxed than the Mayfair rooms without being casual.
What Gets Refused
- Trainers
- Hoodies — and a jacket over one does not fix it
- Ripped jeans — distressed denim included
- Sportswear and anything scruffy
What to Wear
Men: tailored trousers or clean dark denim, a shirt or good knit, a fitted jacket if you want to be sure, and polished shoes.
Women: a cocktail dress, a tailored two-piece or a considered going-out outfit, with heels or an elegant flat.
How Strict Is It?
Less theatrical than a Mayfair door, but consistent. This is an electronic music room in a hotel basement rather than a see-and-be-seen club, so the standard is about looking like you made an effort rather than about labels. Arriving dressed well, in a sensible group, at a reasonable hour does most of the work.
Does a Table Change It?
No. A table booking guarantees entry for your group, but everyone still has to meet the code.
