What to Expect at The Rex Rooms
The Rex Rooms is a late-night lounge rather than a warehouse dancefloor. It is split into two parts: the Main Lounge, where most tables and the DJ booth sit, and the invitation-only King's 1942 Room, a private room for VIP tables and their guests. The space is intimate, so the night centres on tables, with the floor in between filling up as the night goes on.
Because the room is small, the atmosphere depends on who is in it. Midweek it feels like a Chelsea local's late bar that turns into a party after midnight; on Friday and Saturday it is full from early, and the tables set the pace. If you want space to move, a table is the way to get it.
Music and Entertainment
The music is a mix of house, hip hop, RnB and commercial, played by resident and guest DJs from the London club circuit. Location and Getting There
The Rex Rooms is at 151 King's Road, London SW3 5TX, in the middle of Chelsea. The nearest tube is Sloane Square, a short walk east along the King's Road. The street has plenty of restaurants, so dinner nearby followed by a table at the club works well for a birthday or a group night.
At closing time, book a car home in advance if you are leaving at 4am.
Best Nights to Go
- Wednesday and Thursday: quieter and easier at the door, good for a smaller group or a first visit.
- Friday: busy from midnight, with a mix of after-work groups and weekend starters.
