Movida has closed. The club at 8-9 Argyll Street, by Oxford Circus, no longer operates, so its guestlist and tables can no longer be booked. The site is now home to Inca London, a South American restaurant with a dinner show, and to Maya (formerly Luna), the club beneath it, both open and bookable through London Night Guide.
Where to go instead of Movida
All are open and taking bookings through London Night Guide as of October 2026.
- Cirque le Soir on Ganton Street, Soho: fire breathers and acrobats work the room while the DJs play hip hop and RnB; open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
- Tape London at 17 Hanover Square, Mayfair: hip hop, RnB and Afrobeats, open Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
- 99 Regent Street (formerly Cuckoo Club), entrance on Swallow Street, near Piccadilly Circus: two floors, with hip hop and RnB upstairs and house downstairs, Wednesday to Saturday, 11pm to 4am, 19+.
- The Box on Walker's Court, Soho: a theatrical club where the performances are the main event, open Wednesday to Saturday.
What Movida was like
For reference only, as none of this applies any more: Movida was split into four parts: the main Mo*vida club, the Mo*od lounge, a private dining room and Le Salon, a VIP room furnished in classic French style. It held around 425 people, played Ibiza-style commercial house and RnB, and hosted fashion events and celebrity parties. The door policy was dress to impress.
