Barbecoa has closed. Jamie Oliver and Adam Perry Lang's restaurant in the One New Change development by St Paul's Cathedral no longer operates, and the second Barbecoa, on Piccadilly, closed in 2018, so neither can be booked. All are open and taking bookings through London Night Guide as of October 2026.

It may seem as though a country pub complete with abundant hanging baskets has been plopped on to busy Highgate Road, but inside lies an edgy kitchen working sustainable practices into culinary magic- this is Bull and Last. They cure their own meats and fish, churn a dazzling range of ices, even the oatcakes on the cheeseboard are made on site.

Duck & Waffle’s location on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a spectacular view of the capital, can do nothing more to impress even the most discerning restaurant diners. Run by the same company who run Sushisamba two floors down, the restaurant offers a slick ambience with service to match.

Bringing the New York steakhouse to London, not the most original brief, but this (Russian-owned) newcomer has a decent stab at bringing Manhattan to Mayfair: dark-wood panelling, inviting leather booths, a bar counter running the length of the restaurant, and staff so chatty and involved in your order they practically sit down to eat with you If the server did pull up a seat, you wouldn’t be happ

This former fruit warehouse is now Carnivore Central in Will Beckett and Huw Gott’s confidently expanding empire, and the bar a place of pilgrimage in its own right for cocktail geeks.

Try not to be put off by the bare interior of Hereford Road (there’s not a single picture on the walls): Tom Pemberton’s British cooking provides all the visual nourishment you’ll need. Pemberton worked for the ground-breaking St John Bread & Wine, and the influence of Fergus Henderson is apparent.

Hix Soho has closed. Mark Hix's restaurant at 66-70 Brewer Street, Soho, closed in December 2019, so its tables can no longer be booked through London Night Guide or anyone else. All are open and taking bookings through London Night Guide as of October 2026.
