Opium has closed. The Soho cocktail bar and club no longer operates, so its dress code no longer applies.
Where to go instead of Opium

- Cirque Le Soir on Ganton Street, Soho: hip hop and RnB with circus performers, open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
- 99 Regent Street (formerly Cuckoo Club), entrance on Swallow Street near Piccadilly Circus: two rooms, open Wednesday to Saturday, 19+.
- The Box on Walker's Court, Soho: cabaret and live performance, open Wednesday to Saturday; entry is by table booking.
- Rumour (formerly Tabu) in Mayfair: hip hop, RnB and house, open Wednesday to Saturday.
What Opium was like
For reference only, as none of this applies any more: Opium was a Soho cocktail bar and nightclub with an Asian-inspired, speakeasy feel. It opened on Friday and Saturday nights, with a commercial house soundtrack and a smart dress code.
