Tape London NYE 2026 is the New Year's Eve night we are asked about more than any other. New Year's Eve 2026 falls on Thursday 31 December; ask us whether Tape opens that night, and book early. Thursday is not one of Tape's usual nights at 17 Hanover Square in Mayfair, so the club will announce its own plans for New Year's Eve, and the groups already registered with us hear first. ## Will Tape Open on New Year's Eve 2026?

Tape's usual week is Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and New Year's Eve 2026 lands on a Thursday. As of October 2026 the club has not said whether it will open that night. Until it does, this page will not tell you that Tape is open on NYE, and we will not tell you that either.

What we can do is put your group at the front of the queue. Register now with your group size, the guys and girls split and your budget. The moment Tape announces its New Year's Eve plans we confirm them to everyone who has registered, with the table options that fit each group. If Tape opens, you are first in line for the best positions. If it does not, nothing is lost: we move the booking to Friday 1 January, or point the group to a club that normally opens on Thursdays, such as Maddox or The Box.

## Friday 1 January 2027: The Tape Fallback

New Year's Day 2027 is a Friday and a bank holiday in England, Scotland and Wales, as [the GOV.UK bank holidays list](https://www.gov.uk/bank-holidays) shows. Friday is one of Tape's usual nights, so Friday 1 January falls on a normal Tape opening, and for many groups the night of New Year's Day is the better party anyway: nobody is fighting for a midnight countdown, the transport chaos has passed and most people have the Saturday off too.

Friday is also one of the two nights when Little Tape (formerly 1717 Hanover), the room next door, runs from 3am to 5:30am after the main room closes. Little Tape only runs on Fridays and Saturdays, so it is a Friday 1 January option, not a New Year's Eve one. ## How NYE Tables Work at Tape

A New Year's Eve table follows the same basic deal as any other Tape table, with tighter rules around it.

- **Minimum spend.** The figure is what the table spends on drinks over the night, not an entry fee on top. It covers entry for the group you book.
- **Paying in advance.** Holiday tables are usually secured with payment before the night rather than settled at the end of it. We confirm the exact terms with the table plan.
- **Arrive by 11pm.** On a holiday night the door and the bar are at their busiest, and an early arrival gives the group the whole night at the table rather than the last hour of it.
- **A fixed group size.** The number you book is the number the door expects. Adding people on the night is rarely possible when the room is full, so give us final numbers, with the guys and girls split, at the start.

## What NYE Costs at Tape

As of October 2026, Tape tables start from £750 minimum spend on normal nights. NYE minimum spends are set by the club, are higher than a normal Saturday, and are confirmed when you book. The final figure for any group depends on the table position, the group size and how early the booking is made, and the best positions go first.

We will not quote a New Year's Eve price before the club sets one, and we would be wary of anyone who does. When Tape releases its plan, registered groups get the real figures, and you decide from there.

## The Guestlist at Tape on New Year's Eve

On a normal night the Tape guestlist costs from £0 to £20, depending on arrival time. On New Year's Eve the guestlist is usually restricted on New Year's Eve, closes early and is often ladies or mixed groups only; ask us for this year's door policy. That applies to Tape only if the club opens on the Thursday, and it applies to Friday 1 January as well, when the holiday crowd is still out.

## When to Book

Register now and decide later. Holiday tables at the best known Mayfair clubs are booked in the order enquiries arrive, so the groups already in the queue when Tape releases its plan get the first choice of positions. Registering costs nothing and commits you to nothing until you have seen the table plan and the minimum spend.

In practice the busiest weeks for New Year's enquiries are the last three weeks of December, and by then the best tables at the clubs that are open are already gone. A group that settles its numbers and budget in November has the widest choice, whichever night Tape ends up opening.

## Getting There and Home on NYE

Tape is on Hanover Square in Mayfair, a short walk from Oxford Circus and well away from the river stations that close early on New Year's Eve.

Transport on New Year's Eve is the part most groups underestimate. As of October 2026, TfL had not published its plans for NYE 2026, so the best guide is last year. On NYE 2025 the Tube and DLR ran all night, but stations near the river closed or went exit-only through the evening: Charing Cross from 6pm, Westminster from 9:30pm, Embankment and Temple from 11pm, and Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus from 11:30pm. Hanover Square is far enough from the river to escape the worst of it, but expect Oxford Circus and the streets around it to be crowded.

Black cabs add an extra £4 to metered fares between 8pm on 31 December and 6am on 2 January, so agree the plan for getting home before the night starts.

If part of the group wants the Mayor of London's fireworks first, be realistic about it. The [official London New Year's Eve 2026 page](https://www.london.gov.uk/events/london-new-years-eve-2026) says the display runs on Thursday 31 December from 8pm to 12:30am, entry is by ticket only, tickets are sold only through Ticketmaster (up to 4 per person), and the first batch is on sale now with a second batch to come. A riverside midnight and a club table at midnight are two different nights, so pick one and plan around it.
