**Rumour** is an intimate late-night club on Dover Street in Mayfair, behind a deep red interior of velvet booths and low lighting. It opened in the space previously occupied by Tabu, under the same ownership but with an entirely new design and concept — smaller, darker and more considered than the room it replaced.

This guide covers how entry works, what it costs and how to arrange your night. Our booking service is free.

## How Entry to Rumour Works

Rumour is a small room, which shapes the door policy. There are two ways in:

- **Ladies’ guestlist** — free to £20 on the door depending on the night and how busy it is. Quieter midweek nights are usually complimentary; peak Saturdays sit at the top of that range.
- **Table booking** — from £1,000 minimum spend, covering entry for your whole group.

**Gentlemen are not added to the guestlist.** With a 200 capacity the venue manages its door tightly, so for men a [table booking](https://londonnightguide.com/rumour-table-booking/) is the route in. Mixed groups are handled through the table rather than the list.

We would rather tell you that up front than take a guestlist request we cannot honour.

## Opening Nights

Rumour is open **Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11pm until 4am**. Wednesdays and Thursdays are the more relaxed nights and the easiest for guestlist entry; Fridays and Saturdays fill out and are worth booking ahead for.

## Music

The policy is **open format** rather than one fixed genre — hip hop, RnB and house, read to the room and moved around as the night develops. In a space this size the DJ can actually respond to the crowd, which is the point of the format.

## Dress Code

Smart and dressed up. **Heels for ladies**, and a considered look for men — a well-cut shirt or a smart knit with dark trousers or jeans and proper shoes. No sportswear, no trainers, nothing scruffy. The room is intimate and well lit by its own standards, and the crowd dresses accordingly.

## Age Policy

Rumour is **18+** and photo ID is required. Everyone in your group needs their own — passport, UK photocard licence, EU national ID or a PASS-accredited card.

## Tables

Tables start from **£1,000 minimum spend**, which is the amount your group commits to spend on bottles rather than a fee on top. Across eight people that is £125 each including entry. A table also solves the door question entirely for mixed and all-male groups.

See our [Rumour table booking page](https://londonnightguide.com/rumour-table-booking/) for what is included and how to reserve.

## Location

Rumour is at **1 Dover Street, Mayfair, London W1S 4LD**. The nearest tube is **Green Park**, a few minutes’ walk, with Piccadilly Circus and Bond Street also close. Dover Street runs between Piccadilly and Grafton Street, in the middle of Mayfair’s late-night cluster.

## Formerly Tabu

The Dover Street space was Tabu until its rebrand. Same ownership, completely different room — Rumour is a deliberate reset rather than a new sign on the old club. If you knew Tabu, expect something smaller in feel, darker, and more focused on the booths than the dance floor.
